There are two distinct cancellation scenarios with PayTomorrow — before the loan is funded (easy) and after funding (requires payoff). The process is completely different for each.
If you accepted an offer but the merchant hasn't been funded yet (typically same day to next business day):
Once funded, you cannot simply "cancel" — you must either pay off the balance or return the item:
Yes, but only by returning the item or paying off the balance — not by simply revoking acceptance. Contact the merchant for their return policy first, then PayTomorrow at (866) 418-5857 to coordinate the loan closure.
If you cancel by returning the item and the loan closes with a zero balance and no late payments, there is no negative credit impact. If you stop paying without properly closing the account, serious credit damage will result.
Canceling PayTomorrow means different things depending on your situation: canceling before receiving goods, canceling an active loan, or simply closing your account after you have fully repaid. The process and consequences differ significantly between these scenarios.
If you have received a PayTomorrow financing offer but have not yet completed the purchase or signed the financing agreement, you can decline the offer with no obligation. Simply do not accept the offer — it will expire without any action needed. Contact the merchant to cancel the order through their standard cancellation process.
Once the merchant has been funded and your loan is active, you cannot cancel the loan — you must repay it. Your options are: 1) continue making scheduled payments through the full term; 2) pay off the remaining balance early (see our early payoff guide); or 3) return the product to the merchant if they accept returns, which will result in a refund to your loan balance (see our refund guide).
After your loan is fully repaid, your PayTomorrow account remains open for future financing use. To formally close it, contact customer service at (866) 418-5857 or [email protected] and request account closure in writing. Keep a copy of the closure confirmation for your records.
Closing a credit account can have a minor negative impact on your credit utilization and average account age — two factors in your credit score. If credit score optimization is a priority, discuss this with a credit counselor before requesting closure.
If you believe a PayTomorrow charge is unauthorized or fraudulent, report it immediately by phone at (866) 418-5857 and follow up in writing by email. Also contact your bank to flag any unauthorized ACH withdrawals. If the dispute is not resolved, file a complaint with the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov/complaint.
